These Adidas Stan Smiths are part of the 2006 Adicolor series (BK4). They feature Trimmy - a cartoon character from the German 'Trimm Dich' (Get Fit) campaigns of the 60s and 70s.
Trimm Dich featured on upper, tongue, sole and lace jewels, Comfy satin-like padded lining .

To announce the re-introduction of the Trimm Trab trainer, this execution ponders the fate of ‘Trimmy’, an illustrated icon who led the 1976 fitness craze ‘Trimm Dich’, meaning: “Get in shape.” Although the movement originated in Germany, its popularity spread fast across Europe. It was so popular that at its height, adidas released a special pair of Trimm Trab trainers, which Trimmy himself had worn. But what’s happened to him since? 180 Creative Tim Geoghegan: “After ‘76, Trimmy seemed to just drop off the face of the earth. It was a big mystery. But now I think we’ve solved it and what this ad really does is bring a sense of closure.” The illustration and overall style of the campaign is reminiscent of a children’s book, yet the story is intended for young adult audience.
